Designed to find members of the Anime Boston community on college campuses who would be interested in volunteering, the requirements going into this project were to include the basic information about the support squad; what we do, what a volunteer can get in compensation for volunteering, comped cost of attendance, gift cards to spend on food, amongst other benefits. As well as making sure there were links to the signup page through a link and a QR code.
I was provided with an assets kit and style guide to fit Anime Boston’s branding and overall visual style, while having free reign to design within the requirements however I saw fit. I ended up crafting several variations of posters to cover as many possible scenarios or poster styles. Several were designed with minimalist graphics and a focus on text and call to actions. Using official Anime Boston photos of the support squad I designed a poster to showcase what being a member of the support squad looks like. The final design was chosen from an iteration of those designs, with minor changes to background colors and QR code placement.
